Sleepy Hollow by Sgouros & Bell

Casting Men for the musical “Sleepy Hollow” – NYC

Be Bold! Productions, in Residence at the historic Players Theatre in the West Village will hold auditions for an original musical “Sleepy Hollow” (based on the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow”) on Thursday, August 23rd from 12-2p at the Players Theatre – 115 MacDougal Street (between West 3rd and Bleecker).  Sign up begins at 11:30a in studio 3B on the 3rd floor.

Bring 16 bars of two contrasting songs – accompanist will be provided.  Please bring a pix & resume stapled together.

Sleepy Hollow will open on September 28 and run through November 11 on Thur & Fri at 7p / Sun at 2p with some additional Friday 7p and midweek 11a matiness.  Rehearsals begin August 30th and are mainly in the afternoon and on weekends with some evenings during tech.  Pay is $20 a performance – no pay for rehearsals. Seeking the following roles:

Brom Bones – 18-25 – Bari-Tenor – Strapping young local hero.  Larger than life both physically and emotionally.  Good natured but childish.  Rowdy and overly confident in his physical abilities.  Not well educated but street smart.  Loves Katrina but loves his freedom more.

Hans Van Ripper: 35-60.  Baritone – Local farmer.  Strong and wise but a man of few words.   Doesn’t take to strangers but loves to scare them with spooky tales of the Hollow.  Lost his wife many years ago and he still nurses a broken heart

Henry: 18-25 – Tenor – Best friend of Brom.  He runs his family tavern and is sweet, kind and full of life.

Boo!, the Players Theatre Short Play Festival, October 7th – 28th.  15 short plays (comedies, dramas & musicals) will perform over three weekends; 4 productions each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (tech previous Sunday).

Auditions at the The Players Theatre, Sunday, September 9th, 2:00PM-4:00PM and Tuesday, September 11 7:00PM-9:00PM, 115 MacDougal (6th & 8th Ave. lines to West 4th Street).

Please prepare one or two contrasting monologues not to exceed 2 minutes total.  Wildly diversified casting; all types and ages.  Bring (do not email) 6 headshots & resumes.  Non-equity.  No pay.
